Thank you to everyone who has tried to donate over the past few months, but haven't been able to. We can now accept donations again. As mentioned in the beginning of the thread, it costs quite a bit to keep Storm2k running each month and we rely on donations. We realize the economy isn't the greatest, but even the smaller donations help. It all adds up! Whatever you can spare, we would greatly appreciate it.

Donations can be made either through our PayPal account, donations@storm2k.org or via snail mail to mf_dolphin at:

Marshall Frank
1847 58th Street South
Gulfport, FL 33609

Thank you for your continued support. :)

Hello, everyone

A few months ago, there was a mix-up with our Paypal account and someone else's Paypal account. We haven't been able to receive donations or access our funds. Paypal has assured us that we will get our funds back, but apparently it's proving to be more complicated than we originally thought a few months ago and it's taking much longer than we first anticipated. This is very upsetting for all of us. In the meantime, Marshall (mf_dolphin) has made the last 4 payments out of his pocket, thinking each time it would be straightened out before the next payment was due. He cannot do it any longer. The site costs $219/month to operate.

We're asking everyone who can afford $5, $10, $20, or more, to please make a donation. Every little bit adds up. Storm2k has been here since October, 2002 and we've never been faced with such a dire situation. We need to raise enough funds to make the payment that is due at the beginning of February, just a few short weeks away. We are in danger of shutting down!

Please understand that once Paypal releases our funds, we will have more money to work with. We just don't know when that will be and we need money to pay the bills now. We may be opening a temporary Paypal account to accept donations, but please don't wait for that as we're not sure if and when that will be. In the meantime, we're asking that donations be sent through the mail. We know it's not as convenient, but it's only temporary. Please help if you can.

Donations can be sent to mf_dolphin:

Marshall Frank
1847 58th Street South
Gulfport, FL 33609

Please include your username with your donation so we can give you Supporter status on here.

Thank you and all donations area greatly appreciated,
Storm2k Staff

THANK YOU PSYCLONE!!! Thanks EVERYONE who has contributed to keep us up and running while we work out this problem with paypal. Any amount of money helps us keep this site up and running. We are totally non-profit and run only on the donations of our members.

Thanks to everyone! We've got Feb and March now covered thanks to the donations. I know it's rough out there financially but if we can just hold on until the start of the season I'm sure we'll be ok.

What the heck is up with Paypal? Can we mount an email campaign to get them to fix the issue? Need cash for a lawyer?

Has the issue been resolved with PayPal yet, or has a new account been set up to take donations for this season???
I'm sure a lot of folks are gonna be checking in again real soon. :)

I suppose I could just drive a donation over to mf_dolphin. We're practically neighbors!

Good news and bad news. The good news is that Paypal finally released our funds and between the donations that were sent in a few months ago and getting our funds back, we've been ok the past few months. The bad news is that we still can't receive donations through Paypal. Long story short: because of the confusion with someone else's account and our current Paypal account, we will eventually be setting up a new one that in no way can be confused with another. Then we'll be able to receive online donations again. In the meantime, if you can make a donation, we're still asking you to mail a check or money order to mf_dolphin at:

Marshall Frank
1847 58th Street South
Gulfport, FL 33609

Or drive it over, TreasureIslandFLGal. ;)

All donations are very much appreciated!
