90 mm of rain, which is more than the total annual amount for that city. Annual average is 67 mm. The largest part of the annual amount of rain is in November (25 mm) and December (31 mm). Period from June to October is dry, without rain.

Re: Jeddah flood toll 106
Some more photos...these are unbelievable....after just seeing the Anthony Bourdain "No Reservations" episode where he visits Jeddah, I am particularly shocked at what I am finding in terms of reports of damage and loss of life from the deluge of rain. It is easy to forget that there are coastal locations in this area of the world.
What is interesting....there is already chatter of threatend lawsuits against officials for not preparing adequately for such an event. Hmm...where have we heard that before?

Re: Jeddah flood toll 106
We have friends that are working in SA. I don't think they are in Jeddah though. Nothing on facebook about it from them so I consider that hopeful for my concern. I can't believe those pictures!!

Re: Again flood in Jeddah
Impressive videos, the waters can be cheating, if it wasn't for the cars you would think that they're not very strong.

Re: Again flood in Jeddah
Looks to me like they need to do something about drainage infrastructure in Jeddah. Unless the rains are very rare once in a lifetime events(2 years in a row?).

Re: Again flood in Jeddah
90mm is only about 3.6". We had 7.5" in 2-3 hours earlier this week and had only minor street flooding in my neighborhood. They must not have any drains at all there. Nowhere for the water to go.
