Rain Gutters

I don't know why I haven't thought of this before but it popped in my mind this morning.

What do you do (if anything) about your rain gutters to prepare them for a hurricane? It seems like it would be easy for them to fly off or get damaged.

I'm not an expert by any means, but have you seen the nails they use for gutters? They are huge, probably 6-8" long, I don't think you need to do anything to prepare them for high winds.

if there is enough wind to rip them off be happy thats all you have to worry about after the storm

I'm not sure it's worth worrying about since the damage would be extremely minor even if they did fly away.

On most newer homes, long screws are used now instead of the long nails which should help their stability in high winds.
