Ready-Kit Plus

#1 Postby USCG_Hurricane_Watcher » Fri Jul 01, 2005 8:47 pm

Anyone seen this yet? I just bought three for the family cars...looks like they make a nifty "grab-bag" if the need arises.

You'll see them online for about $45 to $50 dollars plus shipping, but we sell the same thing for $22.94 plus shipping ($10.00). Here's the link:

http://www.cg-exchange.com/

Scroll down, Click on "CG Academy Gift Shop"

Click "Enter"

Click "Department of Homeland Security"

The Ready Kit Plus is at the top of the page. Here's what each kit contains:

50 square feet of Home Guard Barrier Sheeting™ (4’ x 12.5’) and duct tape
30-piece first-aid kit
Facial tissues
Three-day supply of food and water (five-year shelf life)
Flashlight
Water resistant AM/FM radio
Four “D” and four “AA” batteries
12-hour lightstick
N95 particulate respirator mask
Emergency thermal blanket
Emergency poncho
Two biohazard waste bags
Sanitary gloves
Two-gallon water bag
Bottle for bleach
Utility wrench
Leather palm safety gloves
Emergency whistle
Family communications plan
Emergency manual

I got two of them from the website "Sams Club Online Auction" for about $10.00 each plus shipping. I have not seen them there lately, but they are real nice and keep checking the website, they may show up.

$10...Wow...I should have waited a week...

Oh well...$23 is still a small price to pay for piece of mind...Thanks for posting the updated price info. What was the availability? Do you have a link?

This is a website that I cannot resist, but I try. You can get some bargains, but be careful, you can also get taken. Not sure how to do this but here is the website: http://auctions.samsclub.com

$23 is great. I saw those advertised at the Exchange located at ISC Portsmouth last week.

That makes the core of a good starter kit. The bag is fairly large. Add a few more items and you'll end up with something fairly comprehensive.

OK, anybody in this forum who both bought the kit, and was in one of this year's disaster areas, please kindly give feedback on how the kit was used, and its usefulness...thanks in advance.

Here's another good safety kit site. Representatives of the company were at a hurricane talk I made in Nashville last summer. The kits are top-notch, very well organized and thorough, but they're not $20.

SLT Disaster Resource Kit™ -- The top-end disaster kit is $350, but it has about everything you could possibly need to survive for days.
