Macaroni and Cheese in anyone's Hurricane Supplies?

#1 Postby tgenius » Mon May 22, 2006 6:43 pm

I'm making some Velvetta Shells to watch 24, and it dawned on me, macaroni and cheese is a good idea as you only need water and a pot and no milk (in the cheese pouches) so does anyone have Mac and Cheese in their supplies? Thankfully I'll have my Microwave and Fridge via Generator this year, so I'll actually be able to make real food :P

Great idea, but I won't use it. I am too fat. TOO FAT I SAY. After every storm, I have lost a couple of pounds. All I drink is water. No beer. (Maybe a shot of Scotch, but that is it.)

That's a good idea. I've never eaten velveeta shells... we usually feen the kids the Kraft variety which requires milk, so this is good to know.

Mac 'n cheese is an essential part of our kit, along with Dinty Moore beef stew (yum). An oft forgotten item is one I always have for the kids as well as myself, which is snack size bags of chocolate chip cookies (Famous Amos and/or Chips Ahoy). These really helped us during our Charley time (especially after the storm).

Not long till '06 is underway...

Lipton Noodles or Rice are also easy to make and are a good meal for 2.
