Plylox clips work much better and are far less expensive. Installation of these clamps requires drilling into the mortar joint, stucco or wood trim. Wood trim with these devices installed would be ripped from the window along with your shutter.

These clamps are based upon a flawed design.

Pretty dubious, and the part about which "independent lab" tested them is all blurry. :roll:

It looks like they only go 3/4-1" deep, so even on a CBS home, especially with rough stucco or fake brick patterned stucco, you'd be grabbing a lot of stucco and little to no solid concrete.

Don't think you'll be seeing a NOA from Miami-Dade on these anytime soon. :wink:
