Nice big ULL and trough to the northwest of it. So expect maybe another 12 hours of favorable upper levels, followed by less favorable. Looks good but Fay looked good east of PR to.

As if this moment shear and SAL look to be pretty favorable. This system also has good shape with it. In it is within the prime of the cape verde season now. I think it is time to start turning some of our interest to here.

I'd imagine there is some shear to the NW of this wave, it looks ok right now but I doub tthis does anything till its much further west.

looks good right now it looks like there is somthing noth west of the larger area of convection

800 AM EDT MON AUG 18 2008

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM FAY...CENTERED ABOUT 80 MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF HAVANA CUBA.

:rarrow: AN AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER HAS FORMED ABOUT 600 MILES
WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF THIS
SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT MOVES
WESTWARD ABOUT 15 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.
