Invest 94L - Will it blow me away while I'm at Sandals?
I'll be in the Bahamas at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort from the 18th through 22nd with my wife.. From the looks of things, how likely am I to see some of this storm while I'm there?
If you don't mind and you have the time, it would be nice to see an update (here) once in awhile regarding Invest 94L.
Thanks in advance...

Thanks, guys. This is the kind of information I was hoping for. I know many of you have the ability to give a general prediction of where a storm might be under normal circumstances.. As of now, I'm guessing there's a good chance that I won't see the storm as I'll be leaving for home (West Palm Beach) on the night of the 22nd.
However, I will keep watching the storm and will check here from time to time (I'm subscribed).
Thanks again!
Sal C.

Since it is the 18th I would presume you are there and having a great time. NO 94L to worry about. ENJOY!!!

Indeed! My vacation went very well! But now I have another storm to worry about.. I'm going on a cruise starting Monday afternoon. It takes off out of Miami.
Monday - Miami - Depart 5pm
Tuesday - Grand Bahama Island - Arrive 8am, Depart 5pm
Wednesday - Nassau - Arrive 8am, Depart 6pm
Thursday - Great Stirrup Cay - Arrive 8am, Depart 5pm
Friday - Miami - Arrive 8am
It looks like Hanna will have some direct interaction with me.. Right now it appears that Hanna stalls a bit early next week - and touches east Florida late Thursday or early Friday.
Any thoughts on all of this? Thanks in advance...

Bring lots of Dramamine.
Seriously, you have little to worry about in terms of safety. Cruise lines will not risk passengers or ships in a big storm. However, you might not get out of port and if you do, you might not get to the Bahamas. It's policy that these ships will change the itinerary without notifying you, so you could get a tour of the keys.
Hannah has a lot of uncertainties five days out so it's impossible to make plans this early.

Thanks for the advice.. I wouldn't mind seeing the Keys, actually. I haven't been there yet...

Norwegian Cruise Line is closely monitoring the path of Tropical Storm Hanna as the safety and security of our guests and crew is of the utmost importance.
Because of the current expected path of Tropical Storm Hanna, forecasted to pass near the islands of the Bahamas, NCL has altered the itinerary of Norwegian Spirit's six-day Bahamas & Florida sailing, departing New York on August 31, 2008. Norwegian Spirit will now call on the island of Bermuda for this sailing. At this time, NCL is also closely monitoring the weather conditions for Norwegian Sky's four-day Bahamas sailing, departing Miami on September 1, 2008.
NCL will update this information as necessary. We thank our guests for their cooperation and understanding.

Well.. This is going to be very interesting.. I'm departing out of Miami on Monday at 5pm. I'm not sure where Hanna will be at that time - but I'm guessing no matter how you look at it - unless the forecast track changes - the waters will be too rough for the Norwegian Sky to sail toward the east (as planned). I doubt they'll head up to Bermuda either - because Hanna could easily go north. South? I don't know.. That seems unlikely as well.. I mean - if we're going to sail south and west toward the keys - it might be difficult to make it's way back north east on Friday morning - where Hanna should be by then.
So, like I said - this is going to be very interesting.. Honestly, I don't see how they're not canceling the cruise altogether.. Any thoughts?

Re:
Yes, I do love Sandals - though it has changed since years ago.. The service is not as good.. Still better than most places, however..
Thank you!
Thank you!
