Well...That site post reads as follow:
"TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION ALERT- EAST ATLANTIC, APPROX 1000 MILES SW OF THE CAPE VERDI ISLANDS. INVEST TO FOLLOW- DVORAK CLASSIFICATION- 1.0-1.5"
I went to the navy site and the D'vorak site and did'nt find anything. Wonder where they get their information. If they make this kind of statements for themselves then they should wait for NHC official info.

On the other hand, if they have an official source then I would like to know where to find it.

I thought when I first read it, that he had some inside info that would soon be released. Even something at the 11pm update, but that was not the case. When you make statements like that and other people read it, and then they pass it on to other people it makes that person and their site not reliable for correct info. If that was his personal thoughts it was not written in that way, sounded offical enough to me. Oh well, next time I will not be so gullable!
Now, that all of that was said the area is looking mighty nice! Would not be at all suprised to see more development by tomorrow.

Still looking good at the very latest satellite image.

http://www.ghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/GOES/globalir.html (click over the east Atlantic to see an image of the wave that is updated every 1/2 hour. It is the must often updated picture of west Africa I have ever seen until now. You can also get a moviloop of the area by clicking anime over the world picture before clicking the area of the wave)
look at that!! :o Did you see what appear to be a banding feature?
However I saw a very little lose of convection on last pic, althought it still look's impresive and the deep convection remains well organized over what appear to be the center of a rotation pattern. Could the little lose of convection be temporary? This wave could have us talking about it for the rest of the week
