looking for some swell for Texas! No hurricanes, lets just get this thing to give some good wave action and move into Mexico. A cold front is expected and man it would be nice to have some offshore winds and a good swell next week.

From the energy surrounding this disturbance to the east into the Caribbean I think it will spin. And that looks like it will occur in the Gulf. The loop current could intensify that MJO-influenced convection.

This system is busy right now. It is bursting close to TD right now and will probably turn N as it goes over Yucatan. Big things happening right NOW with this disturbance. Preshore Belize burst and possible TD formation. I think it is entering a curve right now that will take it towards Florida.

The synoptic pattern setting up across the southern CONUS does not at all favor a turn toward Florida with this disturbance. Low to mid level easterly flow is in the process of strengthening and the 500 MB ridge extending from Florida into the eastern and central GOMEX is forecast to strengthen over the next several days.

I would expect that this disturbance will move slowly toward the west or WNW and will only have a chance to spin up if it can emerge over the BOC early next week. However, my guess is that will slowly fall apart over Mexico.
