A new Atlantic tropical wave is analyzed along 28W from 20N
southward. Scattered showers are noted from 05N to 10N between 24W
and 34W.

An Atlantic tropical wave has an axis along 39W from 16N
southward, moving W at 10-15 kt. Scattered showers are noted from
05N to 10N between 34W and 40W.

Saw the rotation in the clouds earlier but naturally hoping it will dry out since there is ridging further west that would not favor recurve. I agree with the posters that suggested all the tropical activity in the Pacific is suppressing Atlantic activity. Probably a Madden-Julian Oscillation anomaly combined with dry air and a low latitude ITCZ?
Hoping for a quiet 10 day start to August, then maybe only one or two named storms before September.
I'm the only person that bet on one storm for August so not too confident with that guess.

moving W at 10-15 kt. No convection is noted with this wave at
this time.

An Atlantic tropical wave has an axis along 32W south of 21N,
moving W at 15 kt. The wave is embedded in dry and dusty Saharan
Air Layer, inhibiting the development of showers and
thunderstorms.

Seems like this wave will be too far south for any chance at development further west in the Caribbean.

southward, moving W at 10 kt. Scattered moderate convection is
noted near the coast of Suriname and Guyana, S of 08N between 55W
to 58W.

southwestward across NW Guyana, and moving W near 20 kt.
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are noted from 06N to
10N between 52W and 59W, N of Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.
This wave will reach the Windward Islands this evening and
slightly increase the chance of showers and thunderstorms
