That's quite a bit compared to expected - I figured Glenda and Ruby would go at least though. I think Rammasun and Hagupit will be retired by JMA as well, any others?

Doubt Hagupit will be retired by JMA or the Philippines because despite the damage, there is fairly minimal impact to compare with other storms.

BTW PAGASA should revise Gardo/Glenda because I just found out that Gardo is also part of the auxilliary lists. I got surprised that they retired Jose, which had no impact at all in the Philippines.

If Arthur is retired, please let the replacement name be Alfred!
Reason?

:uarrow: Impossible for Arthur to be retired. It may be the strongest to hit the US since 2008, however it had caused relatively minimal impacts all throughout.

If any storm were to be retired in the Atlantic from 2014 it would most likely be Gonzalo.

Arthur for one had high pressure for a 100mph Cat.2 (972mb), also the worst impacts in terms of winds were offshore due to it skirting the outer banks of North Carolina, finally as mentioned it's damage caused was very minimal. All in all Hurricane Arthur was nothing more than a early season surprise Hurricane that was also the earliest Hurricane to make landfall in North Carolina. Nothing more than really a bad Nor'easter in the middle of summer IMO.

I'm still waiting patiently to see a Hurricane Jason, surprised such a name hasn't existed in the Atlantic or E. Pacific.
There was one in Australia, but I was never born to witness it.

I'm happy that Jaguar will be used in the South Atlantic though.

I agree with the name Jason. I want to see a Ryan exist in my lifetime, but my first name Kenneth has been used in the Pacific.

There was a hurricane of my name in 2006 and 1982; my middle name (second name) became a hurricane in 2011. However, at those times I was either too young or had no interest yet.

:uarrow: My first name is Austin and that would really be something if it were a replacement some day since it would be the first name on any given list!

Overall, I think Odile is the name most likely to be retired.

Hey, they should use Berwald :) I just googled all those names and he, Berwald Oxenstierna, represents my country, Sweden :) My name, Humberto, isn't a Swedish name, but I heard that it is being used for a hurricane in 2019 (to let you know I am a full Swede of descent, not Italian or anything like that)
Elida was used last year and it is quite a common name here, Olaf this year, and so is Ingrid (even though she can't be used anymore :()
What about Ulrika, if they were to use U names?
Agnetha?
But if they were to retire Iselle, can they use Inger?
Gonzalo --> Gunther? Gunnar? :)

We should know around April 17. The WMO meeting is April 13 to 17 in Costa Rica.
