When will the first named storm form in N Atlantic basin?

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sun Mar 16, 2014 4:38 pm

I think it's time to start this poll as you never know if another very early Ana type storm forms well before the season starts oficially on June 1rst. If you look at the title of thread the words named storm are there and that means the members have to vote on when the first named tropical storm forms. (Tropical Depressions dont count) The poll will close on May 31rst at 5:38 PM EDT. Don't forget to participate in the Storm2k numbers poll that begins on April 1rst.

I will go with an early named storm sometime in May.

Sometime in late June. It'll probably be a rainmaker though.

Let's go for the record late start just barely missed last year.

And nothing landfalling above a Depression or remnants all season.

I'm thinking an early season surprise in the GOM. Possibly a big rainmaker, but not a strong one. Probably a TS. With the probability of El Nino coming on mid to late season I'm thinking a slower season.
