Amazing that there is an area at this time of the year but there is dry air in the area sand the sst's are below 80*f so chances are minimal.

But I was watching an area north of Puerto Rico that has some thunderstorms but sst's are below 80 there too and shear is strong.

Again, we're not forecasting development. But its the point that something is out there in January. A sign of things to come??? That is why we made the update.
