The Gulf still bears watching

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

The radar loops out of HGX and LCH are fairly impressive this evening off Chambers and Jefferson Counties. Strongest surface wind I could find was way over in SW Louisiana. This is a fairly well defined circulation at least on radar. IF it had more time over water we would probably see at TC out of it.

Biloxi is having a rainy/stormy Labor Day weekend. Convection sitting offshore from Florida to Texas. The gulf is ripe and letting loose a little energy. IMO

I too was glad to get today's rain here in west Biloxi; my yard is still brown and mets in NOLA and MOB are forecasting hot and dry weather to return to my area next week. 8-)

Okay guys, just because I want to BE a meteorologist, want to go to school for meteorology, DOES NOT MAKE ME A METEOROLOGIST. Anything I say about tropical weather is either me learning something new, or is just an opinion and nothing more than that. I can almost guarantee you that I will be wrong about pretty much everything.

Cold front backing up into the TX coast in a high wind shear environment. Nothing tropical.

Appears to be a twist to that Belize/Yucatan wave.

The GOM still has a heavily sheared environment.

People, this season is pretty much over for the mainland US. If I was to bet money I would come out with a lot of money ;)
Conditions will continue to go downhill for tropical development in our part of the Atlantic Basin. There might be one or two more storms before the end of the season but is going to be out in the middle of no where or way down in the southern Caribbean, IMO.

See you guys next year in this topic :)
