First RapidSCAT Images Released

From the newly-installed instrument on the ISS. The instrument still has a month or two of calibration before becoming fully operational.

Very nice! Are they going to make the information public once it is fully in operation?

QuickSAT lasted much longer than expected, so I would not be surprise if it is still up by 2017.

Hopefully it last as long as the ISS stays up. Watched the ISS pass over Mississippi Coast yesterday evening..beautiful sight...MGC

Definately good news, makes me wonder how many may lower-end storms have been missed or underestimated in intensity with the wide gaps in the ASCAT over the last few years.
