Yeah many people don't realize how active the WPAC can be.

Seasons with nino's can be more active in both numbers and majors as their development is displaced further east near the dateline where the most warmest waters are located thus have thousands of miles of free ocean to navigate. The hundreds of islands along the path are in for a war...

Even the slowest seasons over here is still above average if it were to occur in the Atlantic...
