Numbers from Weatherbell's tropical/Ryan Maue's site as of 7/13/2016. EPAC has made the most gains now almost double the average, both Atlantic and WPAC are relatively quiet.

N. Hemisphere: 75.52755 [Normal: 84]

Western Pacific: 25.1125 [Normal: 52]

North Atlantic: 6.845 [Normal: 3]

Eastern Pacific: 39.6200 [Normal:20]

North Indian: 3.95 [Normal: 7]

Maue's numbers seem to be running a little higher than mine for some reason. For example, I'm getting 24.99 units of ACE for Nepartak while Maue has 25.1225. As far as I can tell, we're using the same source data, so I'm not sure what gives. Here's my Nepartak info tabbed out.

EPAC is closing in on 50 units which is more than double the average for this point in the season. Normal for an entire season is a little over 130+ units. Atlantic averages are starting to creep up now which sits at 6.845 units normal being 4, so in terms of ACE the atlantic is ahead by a tropical storm or so worth of units. WPAC remains relatively quiet and half of what should be normal for this time of year. Globally we are slightly below normal at 85.79 units normal being 91. Most of this is being held up by the East Pacific storms.

is there an error in the calculations? Darby should have generated 1 unit at 100 kts, and Estelle should have generated .2025 units. That is 1.2025

your metric went from 49.8850 to 51.4900, which is 1.6025

Or am I making a mistake in calculating the ace?
