The media can get a bit overstressed sometimes. I still can't figure out where the prophecy comes in.

Phrasing in the article seems rather alarmist to me. I'm not saying strong TCs won't impact Eastern North America this season, still it is full of hype.

In any event, the headline in the graphic you posted is a great example of shoddy journalism.
We've seen several examples of misleading weather headlines from CNN, IBT (Flossie, anyone?), and others. Definitely cringe-worthy.

I agree! It is sad that "shoddy journalism" can be present in all types of media even when dealing with public safety. Headlines are used to draw attention. But a misleading headline can have an adverse affect on the reader especially if the headline is all they read or hear. Responsible journalism would create a headline focusing the readers or listeners attention on the purpose or intent of a broadcast or article without unintended hype.

BINGO!!! Click Bait it is. This is what needs to get greater exposure so that different media outlets receive the proper credit for garbage journalism! Obviously, NHC themselves never said "our proficy is" lol. Nor did they use the word "horrifying" in their own assessment of the remainder of the season. This type of "National Enquirer New" where anyone can simply copy/paste a news article and then somehow twist the Header or Headline to suggest something far different should be illegal.
