Hurricane Bob made landfall in New England as a category two. No tropical system has directly effected the area as a true hurricane since.

I was living in SE Massachusetts at the time and the roar of the wind was cool to me but seeing parts of your roof fly away is something you'll never forget. I believe the winds were 100mph with gusts to 125.

It's crazy to believe it's also the last B storm to get retired.
