2017 National Tropical Weather Conference April 5th-9th

#1 Postby srainhoutx » Tue Feb 28, 2017 9:50 am

I am looking forward to attending once again this year representing the KHOU Weather Forum and seeing old Tropical Weather friends as well as meeting new Weather friends. This is by far my favorite Tropical Weather Conference and will be held on beautiful South Padre Island. I believe a several other Members of Storm2k are attending. We look forward to gaining valuable knowledge of what the 2017 North Atlantic Hurricane Season may offer. I am sure updates will follow as April nears. Meanwhile here is the Schedule for the 2017 National Tropical Weather Conference. #ItOnlyTakesOne #HurricaneStrong

I don't know about leading off with Barry Goldsmith on Thursday. Barry was the first speaker in a 60 minute session at a conference last year. I was the second speaker (of 3). We each had 20 minutes. Barry was still speaking for 10 minutes after the hour was up. Someone finally told him it was time to stop. He asked "did I go long"? ;-)

I won't make this conference this year, but I hope to be back in 2018.

I will be there presenting our results from the 2016 field missions. I have some great content and data from Hermine and Matthew. All of the new equipment that we've been developing worked exceptionally well and the results are incredible. Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

I will be there again this year. KatDaddy is going also. Anyone else we don't know about going please let us know by posting here.
Looking forward to continuing/renewing some friendships and meeting new people I see listed as presenters. Always plenty to learn at these sessions. I'll do my best to keep everyone abreast of what is going on.
