This one will be moving into South America in a couple of days. It's also moving into 30+ kts of shear. Certainly not uncommon for this time of year. Waves are typically sheared and far south in May.

Never one to contradicts Levi who I wholeheartedly respect ... an examination of the 5/26 TAFB marine weather forecasting with respect to their 24 hour surface graphing indicate that there are at least five previous tropical waves which are currently in transit thru the MDR which would indicate that the first waves entered The eastern tropical Atlantic early in May ..... however that is not to say that the waves pointed out by Levi are not the most significant waves thus far.....Rich

As mentioned earlier by weatherwindow (Rich) Is not the first wave of the season but is the first decent one that will bring good rain to the Islands.
