Hurricane Art?

#1 Postby storm_in_a_teacup » Thu Aug 17, 2017 10:03 pm

Hi everyone. As I state on my profile, I have a hobby of making art and comics about science using personified natural phenomena, and hurricanes are included in this. I was wondering whether any of you would be interested in seeing some of this, since you are probably some of the few people who will actually get the references. On the other hand, many of you probably have not been as lucky as I am in escaping severe damage due to these storms, and would not be happy to see them depicted as cartoon characters.

If all else fails, I could at least post my dumb "Nor'Easter Alexa" Billy Joel parody.

I was curious what you guys think about this...

I know I can't straddle the atmosphere...just a tiny storm in your teacup, girl.

Always interested. Post away, and I am sure the community would be glad to give their opinions. 8-)

Well...this Bulletin Board is honestly cumbersome to post a ton of images on, so the images for all of the characters to sort of introduce them I'll just link to the site.

They're part of a bizarre science fantasy setting that's a hybrid of Spirited Away, Captain Planet, Avatar: The Last Airbender...but with geophysics and such. I'm currently working on a series of short stories where a young woman in Galveston accidentally gets mailed the avatars of Hurricane Carla and the 1900 storm. Things get...interesting. And by interesting I mean "Battle of the Aquarium Pyramid" and "finding out that her boyfriend is Hurricane Ike in human form" are legit plot points.

(I of course haven't exactly had the time to do much in the way of actual story-length comics b/c grad school but I do have silly one-off things).

And the Nor'Easter Alexa thing...while we're at it...
