Some music to listen to while you're holed up in your home. Of course, it goes without saying, if you're in a place that's getting flooded, don't stay around listening to music. This is only if you're in a safe location and just are bored out of your mind from being stuck and unable to travel anywhere.
Upbeat + Classic:
"Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler
"Thunder" by Imagine Dragons
Many, many songs called "Hurricane" by multiple artists...I recommend the ones by Halsey, Luke Combs, and Theory of a Deadman
"Into the Ocean" by Blue October (these guys are Houston natives!)
"Stormbringer" by Deep Purple
"Storm Front" by Billy Joel
"Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival
"Storm in a Teacup" by Red Hot Chili Peppers (where I get my username from!)
"Wind of Change" by the Scorpions (yeah this band also has "Rock You Like a Hurricane," but everyone knows that one so I'm not listing it!)
Intense:
"Help is On the Way", "Prayer of the Refugee", "Savior," and "Miracle" by Rise Against
"Cry Thunder" and "Heart of the Storm" by Dragonforce
"Butterflies and Hurricanes" by Muse
Somber:
"People Live Here" by Rise Against
"Build a Levee" by Natalie Merchant
"Halleluja" performed by Rufus Wainright (nothing to do with storms, but this song always sounds like it takes place in heavy rain to me)
"Burning House" by Cam
Religious
"Amazing Grace" (super cheesy, yes I know, but it's a classic for a reason.)
"Queen of the Waves
...if there are any other songs you feel I've missed, feel free to add. And good luck. I'm overwhelmed by Harvey already, and I'm all the way in L.A. worrying about my family and friends.

Re: Hurricane Harvey Playlist
With the sun finally visible from Houston, I realized today there was one song I forgot.
"Seasons" (Acoustic) by Dragonforce.
It literally matches my mood right now perfectly.
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I'm probably going to need a while before I can listen to more hurricane-related stuff though...
