I also go with the Western Caribbean, pretty seasonable place for the early systems

I'd say Western Caribbean, before moving into the gulf.

Re: Where do you think Alberto will form?
Cycloneye posted a tweet from Michael Ventrice in the model thread showing that the GFS is showing a tropical low forming off the coast of the Carolinas in the next few days. GEFS only gives a 10% chance, so most likely nothing will form, but maybe it's starting to show that the western atlantic will be the first favorable place this season? We'll have to see if any trends start.
As someone who voted Western Atlantic as well as May being when Alberto will form, I would be interested to see validation of my guesses.

Re: Where do you think Alberto will form?
I'm sticking with my original thoughts of off the SE U.S. Coast or in the Bahamas sometime next month (possibly next week). This has been a BIG hotspot for May tropical development since 2012.

Poll has closed but if anyone wants to comment about this question,go ahead. The option off east coast of U.S won 36% vs 33% for Gulf of Mexico. Thanks to those who voted.
