Tropical Wave in West Africa (Is INVEST 93L)

This one will be adding more tropical cyclone activity to the already busy September in North Atlantic.

A tropical wave is forecast to emerge off the coast of west Africa
in a few days. Some development of the system is possible over the
weekend while the wave moves westward over the far eastern
tropical Atlantic Ocean.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

A tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa

12z GFS doesn't develop this wave.Let's see what ECMWF has.

...TROPICAL WAVES...

A tropical wave is well inland the coast of western Africa. In advance of this tropical wave, large clusters of scattered moderate to strong convection are just offshore the coast of Africa from Sierra Leone to northern Senegal and well inland the coast between these two locations.
The tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa on Fri.

at this point I don't know how significant it is but that graphic is pointing almost NW right off the bat. Does that mean almost instant re-curve of this system?

Usually, when they come off at that angle and direction, yeah they usually recurve. But at this point, I think we all know it's way too early.

2. Updated: A tropical wave with an accompanying low pressure area is
forecast to move off the west coast of Africa on Friday. This
system is already showing signs of organization, and a tropical
depression is likely to form over the weekend or early next week
while the wave moves westward or west-northwestward over the far
eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean. Interests in the Cabo Verde
Islands should monitor the progress of this system.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.


Also in this tweet, NHC refers to it as Invest 93L, so look for that any minute.
