OVER/UNDER Poll - New Named Storms by Oct. 1st

#1 Postby chaser1 » Wed Sep 19, 2018 10:59 am

With the UNDER/OVER being "1" (newly named) T.S., what's your guess on there being either "none" or "two or more" named Tropical Storms in the Atlantic by Oct. 1st?

I'm going to take the "over".

I will say “over” because September is meteorologically the busiest month in hurricane season. Well, usually. I say two more storms

Going to go with the over. I certainly don’t think the season is over. I personally expect one more storm this month but I would say two is more likely than zero.

4 areas to watch. 3 of them medium or high in 5 days. Spoke too soon.

Well we could have 3 or 4 in the next 5 days, and that leaves another week.

True enough. A lot of people might just see their S2K 2018 Atlantic season prediction, blow up soon.

So, there it is - the "OVER" wins. With Kirk and now Leslie those predicting the remaining days leading up to Oct. 1st would produce more then one newly named T.S., were correct :notworthy: Whether that suggests a knack for predicting tropical development, a sharper insight to NHC decision making, or combination of both may be open for debate. Regardless, there are still 7 days left until October 1st so who knows........ perhaps we'll even reach the beginning of the Greek Alphabet

C1 uttered,

perhaps we'll even reach the beginning of the Greek Alphabet

Aleph, beth, gimel, daled, hess, tess, kiss my S." I recited to my 1st term Hebrew teacher when she asked me to recite the alphabet; followed quickly by being yanked out of the classroom by my ear.
