Tropical Wave in East Atlantic (Is Invest 93L)

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sun Oct 07, 2018 6:21 pm

An area of disturbed weather associated with a tropical wave has
formed a few hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Conditions appear to be favorable for some development during
the next few days as the system moves westward across the tropical
Atlantic.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

Impressively far east for October, especially with hostile shear everywhere. Imagine what a season this would've been without the screaming shear and major SAL outbreaks.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

This October is looking quite busy. It's rare to see a MDR system this late in the year this far to the east - Nana 2008 was similar.

2 AM TWO:

An area of low pressure, associated with a tropical wave, is
located several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands.
This system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms,
and some slow development is possible during the next few days
while it moves west-northwestward. By late this week, however,
upper-level winds are expected to become unfavorable for
development.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
