Broad low pressure system expected to form northeast of the Leeward Islands (Is Invest 95L)

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. A broad area of low pressure is expected to form in a couple of
days several hundred miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward
Islands. Some tropical or subtropical development of this system is
possible by the weekend while it meanders over the central Atlantic
Ocean.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

1. A large area of cloudiness and showers over the central tropical
Atlantic Ocean is associated with a surface trough. This trough is
expected to move slowly northward over the next few days into an
area where environmental conditions are forecast to be more
conducive for development. A tropical or subtropical depression
could form over the weekend while the system turns westward well to
the northeast of the Lesser Antilles.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

pressure located more than 800 miles east-northeast of the Leeward
Islands. This broad low is expected to move slowly northward over
the next few days into an area where environmental conditions are
forecast to be more conducive for development. A tropical or
subtropical depression could form over the weekend while the system
turns westward well to the northeast of the Lesser Antilles.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
