Tropical Wave Formerly Known as 93L

#1 Postby SouthFloridawx » Sun Jul 14, 2019 11:40 am

Since 93L is archived, can we unlock: "Tropical Wave in Eastern Atlantic (Is Invest 93L)"? Or do I make a new post?

Hello! I realize that, but I would like to post about it. I'm wondering if a moderator can unlock the old tropical wave thread, that was locked, when they initiated 93L.

Create a new thread, we can always merge it in with the locked thread if we want continuity. I'll ask around.

Surprised no one talking about this wave that just refuses to die... this am perhaps hitting at a weak mid level circulation, no model support yet however...

It does look fairly impressive this morning, but it is moving too fast (EPAC in 2-3 days) and into a region of higher shear in the western Caribbean.

Take a look at the 200-850mb wind shear map on Levi's page. It's in 30-35kts of west shear now, heading into 40-50 kts of shear. Chance of development in the Caribbean is somewhere close to -50%. (that's minus 50%) Watch for it to develop once it passes the shear and enters the East Pacific.

I mean I don’t think it’s THAT sheared right now. You can see upper clouds streaming out anticyclonically on the western edge. But yeah it’s about to hit a brick wall.

Yeah I know the little Caribbean clipper is going to run into the shear monster pretty soon, and certainly been hauling a$$ all day, but he’s still hanging tough, and gaining latitude off to the WNW... actually looks better than Barry did when he entered the GOM.. I guess I’m just bored...
