No we haven’t. I hope they’re all short-lived “garbage” systems. That way the chance of loss of lives as well as major damage from TCs is minimized.

Leaning towards first week of September at this point. We're under-performing 1997 by quite a bit which I never expected to see again.

That's obviously what they are expecting, although even with the revised forecast there was mention that a less than normal season was still very possible. The big picture here is that September and October are HUGE swaths of real estate to cover. No matter how quiet things stay for the next 3 weeks there will be still a huge chunk of peak season to wade through.

Indeed, people that voted August 11-20 or 21-31 can both claim to be the winners here. It was still August 20 in the US when the NHC issued their first advisory but August 21 on UTC time (which Wikipedia goes by). Also it may have been August 21 in the time zone Chantal was in too possibly.
