Another tropical wave is located several hundred miles southwest of
the Cabo Verde Islands. Gradual development of this system is
possible during the next several days, and a tropical depression
could form early next week while it moves westward across the
tropical Atlantic.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

This one looks more impressive on satellite than 96L. Will probably be 97L by tomorrow.

I would not be surprised if that one became Imelda before 96L. Good satellite presentation. I think that's the best looking wave so far W I've seen this season. It could become an Invest tonight

I am only a tropical weather enthusiast. My predictions are not official and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. For official information, please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

I don't either lol. I can honestly say I've never seen this many X's so close together on the TWO.

But in all seriousness this has to be why all the models are flipping and flopping and there is virtually no agreement about what, if anything, is going to emerge from the Atlantic next week

Never seen so many struggling wanna be systems in Sept.
So much for any alleged MJO pulse supposed to happen this month.
Models aren't impressed.

That looks more like a football coach's strategy for a game. And the thing is, conditions aren't that favorable for cyclogenesis yet. What happens within the next few weeks when it does become favorable?

What is this?

This is a line created to identify soon-to-be 97L. This marks the identification in the ATCF of a potential Invest

What exactly is this? Has this been labeled by the nhc as an invest? AL75 does not mean much.
