Wow, those are huge #’s for normally conservative CSU. Man if that verifies there will be tons of hurricane days for us to track.

NOAA had in the May forecast 13-19 named storms, 6-10 Hurricanes and 3-6 Major Hurricanes. Let's see if they leave them the same or they go up.

I'm thinking they go with 18-24 Named Storms, 8-12 Hurricanes and 3-6 Major Hurricanes.

Agree, in 2017 they upped their forecast in August given indicators at the time and I would expect they won't ignore indicators this go around either.

“This year, we expect more, stronger, and longer-lived storms than average, and our predicted ACE range extends well above NOAA’s threshold for an extremely active season,” said Gerry Bell, Ph.D., lead seasonal hurricane forecaster at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center.

2020: the year that NOAA's median calls for more named storms than there are names.

Enjoy the early August lull while it lasts- there are plenty of sleepless nights ahead.

I would’ve gone with 9-13 hurricanes, personally. 7–11 seems a bit low imo considering we’ve already had 2.

Keep in mind CSU's forecast on August 5, 2005 was 20 TS, and TSR was 24

Keep in mind all these storms are suppose to happen in a short span of 30-50 days atleast the capeverde season. It’s almost to much to fathom honestly.
