I'm going to say August 4. We have seen many hyperactive seasons not have their first hurricane until some time in August (such as 2004 and 2017).
Also, mods can you please make this a poll?
When do you think the first Atlantic hurricane of 2020 will form?

I'm going with August 1st-10th in the Tropical Atlantic from a tropical wave. Wouldn't surprise me if this August is more active than the last two combined.

July 11-20 in the MDR. With the Atlantic SST pattern transitioning to a +AMO, and with plenty of vigorous tropical waves already, I think we’ll have an early MDR hurricane this year like 2018.

Thinking last week of July but will probably have some weak minimal short lived hurricane for a day or so in early July. Going to take a while for things to get ripe.
