Which region will see the most impacts in 2020?

#1 Postby Shell Mound » Wed Jun 24, 2020 1:15 pm

This is supposed to be a poll.

Options:

Canadian Maritimes
New England states
Mid-Atlantic states
Georgia / Carolinas
Florida peninsula / Keys
Gulf Coast (TX to FL Panhandle)
Caribbean / Mexico / Central America
Bermuda / Azores / Cabo Verde islands

I personally vote(-d) for the fourth option (Georgia and the Carolinas). This year’s “Michael” or “Hugo” could take place there.

Wish we could've selected 2 options. Went with FL peninsula/ keys...but have a feeling Cuba will take a whack this year. The same FL hitting storm might go to the Carolinas or Gulf coast, and may have already struck the islands before Cuba/FL.

Tough call, but figured FL might be the "crossroads" and see more than 1 hit during peak season and Fall.

With the Caribbean Sea potentially being favorable this year for the first time since 2016, I think the islands and parts of Central America could get hit hard. There’s also the decent likelihood of a Caribbean system making its way into the Gulf states.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

This poll will be open until July 10th at 2:22 PM EDT so those who have not voted yet have plenty of time to do so.

I will go with multiple threats to FL and quite possibly 1-2 landfalls.

This recent spate of nuisance T.S.'s around the Central/Northern U.S. Eastern Seaboard do make me wonder if this will be representative of a number of future tracks once "the big boy's" start to form
