What Will Be the 4th Major Atlantic Hurricane Name?

#1 Postby Category5Kaiju » Fri Sep 03, 2021 9:46 pm

Now that Larry has become the third major hurricane of the season, I guess it is time to ask what the fourth major hurricane name will be for this year. I personally think it will be Odette (as I am basing this on the idea that Mindy could come out of 91L and Nicholas could be a weak mid-September open Atlantic MDR system, which some models have been hinting at); I also think Odette may come out of that strong signal that some models have been hinting at around the September 17-19 timeframe exiting Africa.

Peter. Edit: revising my prediction to Nicholas think it could be that gulf storm the GFS is picking up on a week after Labor Day.

Nicholas. We had Grace and Ida as a set of female name majors, now we’ll have Larry and Nicholas as the set of male name majors.

Nicholas. The possible system behind 91L is looking a little worrying.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Nicholas or Odette in my opinion. Nicholas makes more sense with that worrisome new wave, but I've had a bad feeling about Odette from the beginning so who knows.

Nicholas If models continue with that wave behind 91L (given 91L gets Mindy), Untapped W. Gulf and quick intensification could be possible with the set-up IMO, But If not my original Three Majors for the season were
-Ida, Mindy, and I was half&half with (Peter/Rose)

Bump, but everyone guessed it wrong lol.

Sam isn't technically a major yet, but we all know what the answer will be.
