The models seem to be trending weaker for this system. These models now both indicate a 1009-millibar tropical storm at best.

12z Euro trended much stronger on this system, along with CMC.

The 12z Euro, CMC, and ICON all get a strong and early recurving hurricane out of this. It gives me Helene ‘18 vibes. Just like with 95L early on, the GFS is the weakest model.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Eastern Tropical Atlantic:
A strong tropical wave is forecast to move off the coast of West
Africa on Tuesday. Environmental conditions appear conducive for
development once the wave moves offshore, and a tropical depression
could form over the far eastern tropical Atlantic during the middle
to latter part of the week while the system moves to the west or
west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph. This system is expected to move
across the Cabo Verde Islands Wednesday night and Thursday, and
interests there should monitor its progress.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...60 percent.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.
