Re: The Storm2k 2024 North Atlantic numbers poll will open on March 10 at 1 PM EDT / 15 days left
Down to 25 days for the poll to open. There will be plenty of time for the members as the poll will be open from March 10 to May 31 at midnight EDT, to think and post the set of numbers and the ACE, but that is if you want to add it, as is optional.
In the time ticker it says San Juan, Puerto Rico time as that is where I am, but it will be the same time as the eastern U.S time zone with Daylight Saving Time, that begins that day at 2 AM EDT.

Re: The Storm2k 2024 numbers poll will open on March 10 at 1 PM EDT / 24 days left
24 days left. If you have preliminary numbers and later you are going to post final ones, those will be posted with the word Final. If by May 31rst at Midnight EDT when the poll closes, there are still members that have preliminary numbers,I will consider them as final ones.

Re: The Storm2k 2024 numbers poll will open on March 10 at 1 PM EDT / 23 days left
Now down to 23 days for the poll to open. Another nuggett of the poll is that unnamed storms that may form will count as part of the numbers but if a storm forms in the South Atlantic, it does not count as the poll is for the North Atlantic.

Yes, only 21 days left and get ready to post your numbers.
Another tip of the poll= (Optional) The ACE (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) numbers for the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season will not count for the poll but if any member wants to post what they think about how the ACE will be you can do so.

Re: The Storm2k 2024 numbers poll will open on March 10 at 1 PM EDT / 20 days left
Down to 20!!!
Anyone can participate, from the pro mets, those who like Tropical Weather and like to track tropical systems, those who dont know a lot about tropical weather, and the newbies too are welcomed.I know that the numbers are not the most important thing in a season. The most important thing are where the storms will go,so it doesn't matter how many named storms form,as it only takes one system to do all the damage to an area. However,it's always very interesting to make a poll like this to see what the members think about the numbers game and how active or not the season will turn out.Let's see at the end of the season, how many members get close or tie what the 2024 season will offer.

I'm anticipating two things:
1. How many participants there will be
2. How high the cumulative average of everyone's predictions will be

I suspect a record of participation and the set of numbers will on average,on the high side. Below were the final stats of the 2022 poll made by TheAustinMan. Only one month away for the 2024 poll to open. Who will volunteer to do the poll stats?

Yes. I can see this 2024 poll being with the most participants since they began in 2005 and in averages that will be on the high side on both numbers and ACE and that is why I am looking for the stats members to help.

With 100 days till the official start of the hurricane season, it's almost that time of year yet again. Wonder how the 21st edition of the Storm2K numbers poll will turn out. With moderate to high confidence of at least a cool-neutral ENSO event, I'd imagine the averages might be pretty high this year, though we're still very far out and forecast skill at this leadtime tends to be pretty negligible. My guess is that the average named storms guess will be very high, though the 20.4 from 2022 would be hard to top.

Great to see you my friend. That is what I want, stats for the members to see them and they are very good for the poll to have. Keep the crunching of the numbers going thru the poll when is open and of course, after it closes to see the final ones.

Re: The Storm2k 2024 North Atlantic Hurricane Season Numbers Poll will open on March 10 at 1 PM EDT / 14 days left
Is almost here. Only 14 days.
Another tip of the poll:
If you are not added to the list rapidly, dont worry because as soon I come on-line you will be added.I will be mainly on-line in the morning hours between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM to add the overnight participants. Also I will be on-line between 1:00 PM and 11 PM in and out daily so again, dont worrie if you are not on the list rapidly. Those who may post very high set of numbers or very low set of numbers dont worrie at all because that doesn't matter. Can we do much better that past polls having 200+ participants?
