Unless the tail end of the trough moves rapidly NE but if it lingers for more than thursday then we here may see flooding as rivers are on the rise but I will keep all informed of anything bad that may happen.

Flash flood warnings are now in effect for parts of Puerto Rico as rivers continue to rise and some flooding has been reported in some towns in interior PR.

The latest is that a state of emergency is in effect for all of Puerto Rico as flooding is occuring in many places as between 5-8 inches of rain haved falled in many parts of the island especially the eastern third and the south portion.

Dont worrie Marshall because I am safe and dry in my condo but many people here are not and that is the bad news.And more bad news is that it will continue to rain at least for 48 hours as the hpc discussion just released and they say the trough is moving very slowly but will begin to lift NE in 48 hours.

That is cause for concern because many mudslides will happen and more flooding will occur as the rain continues but hopefully the forecasts are wrong and the trough goes away.

Thank you rainband and the total of rain so far as maximum is 11 inches in eastern Puerto Rico and totals between 5-8 inches haved fell in southern Puerto Rico.

Well the good news is that the rivers haved gone down because it has stopped raining but the bad news as you can see at the radar more rain is going north from the caribbean sea so another round of rain for tonight and more flooding.Many people haved been moved to shelters more than 100 families so far but no injuries or deathes related so far but I will keep you posted.

Hey Luis, are you still getting rain there? Seems the low is nearly stationary at this time, at least the focal point of circulation, but still shows moisture over Puerto Rico. Hope all is well with you there. Now that we're past the mid-point of April, we should start seeing waves begin to traverse the Atlantic. Just for laughs, take a look at the day 11 GFS. Shows a potent low crossing central Florida from west to east. Would be very strange for this time of year if it is that far south. It shows it at 1000mb approaching Tampa :o LOL!

That would be a fun track to watch for a system in mid April. Something to watch here in central Florida.

Luis told us that he will not be online today (Good Friday) and will return sometime tomorrow.
