I don't think all of you would be whooping it up if you lived in Mississippi or south Louisiana.............especially if all you had left was a slab when you came home and are still living in a FEMA trailer.

Hurricanes are a fact of life and yes I am fascinated by them and enjoy tracking them, but I don't wish them on anyone and the more fish the better I say!

I agree, and very well-said. That is exactly what I have been trying to say.

It also greatly reduces the excitement during hurricane season. Think about it, would people really care that much about the latest runs if the hurricane was in the middle of the Atlantic?

You're not a hurricane enthusiast if you enjoy seeing hurricanes make landfall -- you're just nuts.

You got THAT right, Senorpepr. I've even read sites from real SICKOS who actually "root" for a real record-breaking catastrophe like they would as spectators at a sporting event. Kind'a reminds me of the ancient enthusiasts who gleefully thronged to see people torn apart by wild animals.... sick!

Hurricanes are beautiful wonders of nature... but the fishes don't wreak the havoc and misery that landfalls do... I'm for ALL fishes!

48 pages later...guess I'll finally post. :)

I'm dreading this.

Weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks of this crap -- hoping for a fish, preparing for the worst, praying for the best, waiting, watching, waiting, watching, pulling out hair, losing sleep, reading and re-reading models, hearing news reports and forecasts, talking with co-workers, hearing hospital higher-ups tell us the same usual "We're watching, but it's not time to go yet," more waiting, counting batteries, checking water, marking maps, and then BAM! Next thing ya know, they're telling you "24 shopping days 'til Christmas!!"

For the sake of everyone here, especially those to my east, here's hoping for a quiet, boring season of fishes and a quick arrival of the real Season. :)
