There's no Sunday in the poll, only Saturday the 12th and AFTER Sunday. I pick 21Z Sunday, the 13th.

It really depends on which center takes over: the NE blob or the original LLC. If that NE blob keeps going NE (and doesn't self-destruct), Florida's keys are going to be under TS conditions soon. That really ought to warrant a TS watch / warning.

It's actually going to be interesting to see what the C-130 finds in a little while.

NE Blob

Steve, I don't thin the FL Keys will see more than 15-20 mph wind (they're at about 10 mph now). That NE blob is not going to make it there. Since landfall isn't expected on the U.S. coast until Monday afternoon, probably no watches until Sunday.

I was thinking about that too when replying. I wonder if it's really possible to say anything definitive right now.

A tropical cyclone does not have to hit/make landfall for Tropical Storm/Hurricane Watches and Warnings to be issued.

True

Of course, that's true, CF - but the storm's not heading to the Keys.

This "storm" doesn't appear to be heading anywhere. Looks like the "pros" are about as confused as Claudette..with all due respect  Mother nature is very unpredictable and she proved it today.. :o
