Maybe I'm Just Seeing Things...

#1 Postby southerngale » Sat Jul 12, 2003 3:33 am

But it sure looks like Claudette is heading off the NNW.....towards Louisiana. If not then her convection is running away from her. :o

*Keep in mind that it's the middle of the night and I'm exhausted but can't sleep because I'm not feeling good. (I can't breathe when I lay down :()

Not Completely Seeing Things

#2 Postby wxman57 » Sat Jul 12, 2003 5:00 am

You're now completely seeing things. The convective blob north of Claudette's center is moving NNW as it's beginning to get sheared away from the center. But with weak systems like this, you have to ignore the bright colors at night and focus on the faint light gray low-level clouds. They show a westerly motion, as recon verifies.

I agree. Looks like a S. Texas target on Monday or so.

I hope you are feeling better this AM Southerngale, I hate nights like that.
Well another day with Claudette, I wonder what she has in store for us today. Her multi centers has made it a real pain to track, but it has also kept us busy. I don't think anyone will soon forget her even if she just up and totally fell apart today.

Speaking of "I Think I'm Seeing Things" .... sure seems like the latest infrared satellite loops show Claudette doing a better job of getting her act together.

Any possibility the shear is lessening?
