5:30 PM EDT Tropical weather outlook New candidates?

That wave in the caribbean is the one GFS is showing as a cyclone in the GOM in the comming days.That wave east of the lesser antilles is really big but with no convection but more west the sst's are warmer so I guess maybe we will be busy tracking besides what Claudette will finnally do next.

Another one may be heading into the Gulf? How reliable is the GFS?

GFS is a good model but sometimes forms phantom lows.

Good morning...

any indication of a low around 10N,26W? Convection has been persistent here. Also... look at the deep convection getting ready to move off the African coastline before too long.

SSD dvorak T numbers are still too weak for that one at 11.2n-24.0w.Convection has persisted and we have to look at that one and yes a monster wave is poised to roll out tonight but as usual it will not stay like that when it hits the water.
