Error when I tried to post thru the Quick Reply & PM's

#1 Postby wxmann_91 » Sat May 12, 2007 2:58 pm

This is what it said, it was in the Andrea thread:

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 234
File : emailer.php

And weirdly, it got posted. OK then I guess it's just a cosmetic problem.

**EDIT** READ THROUGH THIS POST AS MANAGMENT IS WORKING ON THE PROBLEM**

Checking out the quick reply now.

Edit: hmmm... it worked fine for me. Maybe it was a brief server hiccup.

I had the same error when I replied in another thread. I did not experience the incident when I posted this message.

I've been getting the same message today, most recently about 5 minutes ago.

Edited to add: It seems to be gone now.

I had the same trouble this morning with the same result. Multiple postings because I didn't know it had posted.

Seems to be fine now. Didn't happen this time.

It seems (at least in my testing) that it only happens when you try to post or send a link

I was trying to quote Marshall. Like what was said above it did post everytime I hit the submit button but it was given me the error message. I had to go in and delete 3 of my posts.

The error will occur if somone has their profile set to receive an e-mail when a new post occurs. (watching the topic) Our site's e-mail server has a problem and we're working to resolve it. The error does not impact your post just the notifications. The same thing will happen for any type of post including PM's.

Hmmm, mine is not set to do that. Only set to recieve email for a new PM. I guess that may be the same?

Chiming in to agree with O Town. I only receive an email when a new PM pops up. Sometimes I get the "bug" message and sometimes I don't.

That is interesting... I don't have the email turned on (if I remember right)...... and I get the message whenever I PM.

The error occurs when the board tries to send and e-mail to anyone. If you make a post and someone else is watching the topic the the error occurs because the board attempts to send them a message. By the same token if you send someone a PM and they have their PM notification turned on then your PM triggers an attempt to e-mail and thus the error.
