Nope, news has been very, very slow especially as of late. I'm afraid we aren't going to hear much for a while and then they'll drop a bomb of a very large, possibly 4-digit number.

Does anyone remember how this unfolded with Hurricane Mitch? I mean the way the death toll came out, all at once as a shocking number or slowly over the weeks/days?

From what I remember, it continued to climb for weeks... months even but we got updates more often than we are right now for Felix.

ReliefWeb has a situation report that lists 102 deaths, 35 unconfirmed deaths, and 86 missing.

223 possible deaths.....the Misquito Indians must be incredibly tenacious to have escaped with such a low count! (Providing the count is correct?)

According to this article, the toll is higher. (200 dead, 277 missing)

Miskito Indians' troubles put issues in context

Everywhere you search online the numbers are different. Even the population numbers on the Miskito coast are not consistent. I don't think anyone really knows the correct counts.
