There must be screwups on that. 908mb would be Category 5 pressure...and probably a world record for a non-tropical system...

I somehow doubt that they have had major screw ups twice.. they're quite consistent with the pressure.

Truro.. winds starting to howl. Pressure 996 MB.

Pressure 996 mb, winds still average of 30 mph gusting to 50 mph, with that one gust to 60 mph earlier. Still heavy rain.

The parking lot across from my home is starting to flood due to all the rain. I will have to watch that stream in my back yard it is getting rather full.

Well,

Wind SE 61km/h
Wind gusts 93km/h
Relative Humidity 100%
Dewpoint 16°C
Pressure 99.29 kPa
Visibility 3.2 km
Ceiling 300 ft

I take it that 61 KM/H is the sustained winds, which is TS force. Gusts to 93, which is about 56 MP/H.

This is an interesting damage report from Barnstable, MA:

0630 PM
M89.00 MPH BARNSTABLE MA
DAVIS ANEMOMETER - INSTRUMENT DESTROYED

I really don't think it gusted to 89mph on Barnstable. The anemometer probably gave an erroneous reading before committing suicide.

In November of '01, Noel wasn't a threat to land. It was absorbed by an Extratropical Low (which also absorbed Hurricane Michelle I believe) and then pounded Atlantic Canada.

From the reports, Barnstable got hammered, regardless of the suicidal anemometer.

The closest
approach to Nova Scotia is estimated to be around 4 or 5 AM. This
will be the time when the highest winds will begin moving across
The province.

Hmm well, that's a bummer. I wanted to stay up for the show.

If they get too strong, the winds might awaken you...
