I've departed from my normal tactic of voting for the deadliest cyclone this month. All were worthy and I could easily also have voted for the floods (I have a friend in Des Moines who escaped because they were on high ground) or the Little Sioux scout camp tornado, but I've gone with the Tasman Sea subtropical storm because of it's rarity and intrigue.

New Zealand Subtropical Storm. I have a taste for the bizarre, and that was bizarre.

Not as lopsided as last month, but a deserving "winner".

With all the attention on Bertha it seems that everyone forgot to crown a winner.
