Recon question

#1 Postby cycloneye » Wed Aug 23, 2006 1:51 pm

senorpepr,my question is about why when for example in the plan of the day a possible invest at ...... pops up,why they wait 2 days before they go to a system and not go in the following day? I know it is done to get a crew ready but why it takes 2 days instead of 1 to get a mission going?

Luis,

It could be for various reasons. The primary reason, however, would be because the NHC doesn't except the invest to be "mission-worthy" in just one day. There's no need to waste time and money on an invest that posses minimal threat for near-term development.

crews are notified of flying 18-24hrs prior to possible flight.... hence the reason for the delay.

Well, I think he was referring to when they schedule something WAY in advance (like nearly 48 hours with 05L)...

But yes, they have to make sure the loadmasters have plenty of sleep.

yes we would.... you'd have to arrange a flight from Offutt to Keesler, we aren't comin' to get you.... or heck, drive!

Good luck competing with the ARWOs... they are stuck in their ways!
