Wind speed versus barometric pressure.

Is there a simple way to calculate wind speed AGL using barometric pressure? Or can it be done?

No, wind speeds are the result of the pressure gradient, not actual pressure

Hurricanes with much tighter gradients have stronger winds. Some hurricanes have really low pressure, but their wind speed is not high. For example:
Hurricane Ike-944 millibars 100 mph. Maximum wind extent (H:115 miles TS:275 miles)
Hurricane Charley-941 millibars 150 mph (H:30 miles TS:90 miles)

Surface winds, particularly in areas of mixed terrain, are rather more complicated than just pressure gradient. Also with baroclinic systems you can also have a Thermal Wind contribution.
