A quick question or two.

#1 Postby Aleksandr » Fri Nov 26, 2010 1:17 am

Hello everyone, I have been studying the radar archives and multiple reports of damage from the Greensburg tornado of May 4 2007.

As I can tell, the initial hook echo and associated couplet passed right over Greensburg, but a second hook echo drops from the cell shortly after the initial impact, I know the cell also spawned a tornado east of Greensburg, but I do not believe anyone has ever reviewed the possibility that the town was hit by a second tornado along with the initial tornado and satellites.

Also, do you think the Yazoo City tornado would of been rated an EF-5 if it hadn't been for the speed of the cell?

The Greensburg cell was going 20-30mph while the Yazoo cell was going 50-60mph, both were basically the same size from reports, it could of been a lot worse for Yazoo if the storm had been slower moving, I personally think the city would of been leveled completely.
